More Lodge Trip Dates on the Rogue

Monday, January 16th, 2006

Half Moon Bar LodgeThe Forest Service and BLM are allowing us to run two extra Rogue River trips in May for 2006 and we have decided to run these as lodge trips. We are now running Rogue River lodge trips on May 16, 20, 24, and 30, 2006.

Lodge trips are a comfortable way to see the Wild and Scenic Rogue River. We run the fun Class II and III rapids of the Rogue each day and “kick it old school” at the lodges each night. Each of the lodges have a dining room where we will sit down and have dinner as a group. They also have comfortable dual occupancy rooms with BEDS!

This is a nice way to spend three days in Southern Oregon. Learn more about Rogue River Lodge Trips corner

Rogue River peaks at 100,000 cfs

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

Blossom Bar at High WaterThe Rogue River peaked last night at 100,000 cfs after a few days of warm rain. During the summer, we float down the river at 1,000 to 5,000 cfs so this is as much as 100 times as much water than we normally see floating down the canyon!

This is great news for the Rogue because these high flows are above the level of most of our camps. The high water revitalizes the sandy beaches by depositing more sediment(sand) and making our camps bigger and cleaner.

A few ECHO guides ran the Rogue on New Years of 2003 at 30,000 cfs and reported that Mule Creek Canyon was full. 100,000 cfs must have been really interesting.

Lodge Trips on the Rogue River

Tuesday, March 8th, 2005

It’s time to start thinking about doing a lodge trip on the Rogue.

This trip involves rafting down the Wild and Scenic Rogue River each day and staying in a beautiful lodge each night. The guides will prepare lunches on the river each day and we’ll arrive at the lodges in the afternoon. The lodge staff will prepare a delightful dinner for us to enjoy at a dinner table. One of the lodges even has a unique five hole golf course.

This is the perfect trip for those of you looking for a quick trip away from the real world. Each night you’ll enjoy a double occupancy room with beds and a shower.
