Happy Holidays from the ECHO Office

Friday, December 17th, 2004

Season’s greetings from ECHO world headquarters in Oakland. We’ll be in and out of the office (mostly out) for the holidays until January 3rd and will be checking our email frequently.

We’ve recently decided to do a whitewater school during the last week of March on the Rogue and Tuolumne Rivers that will coincide with UC Davis, UC Berkeley, and Stanford spring breaks. Dennis Eagan has also decided to do another Yoga trip September 9th, 2005 on the Rogue. We’ll add more specifics about these trips as we finalize the details.

Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum on the Rogue and Tuolumne Rivers

Thursday, December 9th, 2004

We’ve set dates for the two trips this year with Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum on the Tuolumne and Rogue Rivers.

They’ll be joining us on a four day trip on the Rogue from July 27-30. We will be camping for the first two nights of this trip and spend the third night at Half Moon Bar Lodge. The Rogue will be immediately followed by their tradition three day Tuolumne trip on August 1-3.

The dates were chosen so that the two trips can be combined into an eight day whitewater bluegrass fiesta! For information and details, check out out “Bluegrass on Whitewater.”

Seven Life Lessons from Rafting

Monday, November 22nd, 2004

Dick just adopted two Jack Russel Terrier puppies currently named “Spot” and “Buddy” after trying on the names “Spike” and “Sparky.”

Over the weekend I was passed on an article about the Seven Life Lessons from White Water Rafting that I thought was interesting.

There is nothing else new except that we’ve had some interest in a whitewater school and are considering the last two weeks of June. Any feedback or interest will help us mold this project!

New ECHO Web Site

Wednesday, November 10th, 2004

Happy Fall! We just launched our new Web site and are looking ahead to next season. We’d like to hear from our friends out there about what they think about the new site and if they have any further suggestions as to how we can make the site better. We’ve also tested the site on most computers and browsers, but if any of the pages look funny or are hard to use, please let us know.

We’re planning our special trips right now and are considering music trips on the Rogue and the Tuolumne as well as family trips on the Rogue, Middle Fork, and Main Salmon. We’ve scheduled one wine trip on the Rogue and have interest in a second. We’ve scheduled two lodge trips in May and have planned four camp/lodge trips on the Rogue for the summer months! Phil and Mary Dereimer will be joining us again for a hardshell kayaking trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon on July 3rd which is almost half full.

Finally, we’re considering a singles/young persons trip on the Tuolumne this spring and a whitewater camp or whitewater school in the spring or summer months.
